Kelly Mak is an Accredited Practising Dietitian, Credentialled Diabetes Educator (CDE), and certified fertility, prenatal and paediatric dietitian based in Canberra, Australia. She supports individuals and families across the early life journey — from preconception and pregnancy to postpartum, infant feeding, and childhood nutrition.
Kelly graduated from Queensland University of Technology with a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics, and also holds a Master’s degree in Communication. Alongside her clinical training, this has shaped her ability to communicate evidence-based nutrition advice in a clear, practical, and supportive way.
Her work first began with children and families, but over time, she came to see that nutrition does not begin in childhood alone. The more she worked in paediatric and family nutrition, the more she recognised how deeply early nutrition is shaped by fertility, preconception, and pregnancy.
This understanding became even more meaningful as Kelly entered that season of life herself. Preparing for her own family gave her a more personal understanding of the hopes, pressures, and uncertainties that can come with trying to conceive, navigating pregnancy, and wanting to nourish both yourself and your future child well.
Today, Kelly’s care brings together clinical expertise and lived understanding. Her approach is warm, practical, and non-judgemental, helping clients feel supported with evidence-based advice that is realistic, personalised, and relevant to their stage of life.
She has also completed advanced training in feeding therapies, including SOS (Sequential Oral Sensory), which supports children with picky eating and feeding challenges related to texture, taste, and sensory needs.
Kelly is passionate about helping individuals and families feel informed and confident through every stage of the journey, with care that is thoughtful, compassionate, and grounded in real life.
